BTS member Jungkook was honored twice at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
According to a list of this year’s winners, Jungkook took home the top honor in the best song category for his solo single “Seven.” The youngest member of BTS is the first K-pop solo singer to win the award, beating stiff competition with contenders such as Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift.
The full group BTS won the same category back in 2020 for its song “Dynamite.”
Jungkook’s second win came in the category of best K-Pop. BTS claimed the honors there for the first three years after the category’s debut in 2019.
The group Tomorrow X Together, known as TXT for short, was named “Best Push Act," which is given to the group or artist that gets the most attention in the global music market.
TXT is signed with BigHit Music, just like BTS.
The awards ceremony was supposed to be held in Paris, France, on Sunday, but was canceled amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, the Palestinian militant group.
